For the second year in a row, we had the pleasure of presenting an educational workshop about the Chol Soo Lee case to high school and college interns of The K.W. Lee Center for Leadership, our first fiscal sponsor and community partner. This year’s guest speakers were Gary Eto and Mike Suzuki, both of whom told the students that they got involved in the Free Chol Soo Lee movement as college students, and were inspired to go to law school because of it.
Today, Eto is a trial …attorney who has litigated major wrongful death and personal injury cases involving automobile defects, and Suzuki is the division chief of Employee Relations at the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office. The center’s namesake, K.W. Lee, at 89 years strong, shared the stage with Eto and Suzuki, whom he called “too humble,” and delivered his own special brand of fiery inspiration.
Lawndale High School Black Student Union would like to thank Dr. Sandra & Gary Eto for their generous scholarship donation to our organization. Your donation helped students offset the cost of tuition, books, and other college necessities.
